Vietnam Association for Protection of Children’s Rights (VAPCR)

Founded in 2008, VAPCR is a social organisation connecting like-minded organisations, individuals and volunteers to work for children’s rights and participating in preventing children's rights violations in Vietnam under the national laws and the provisions of the UNCRC. Since its establishment, VAPCR has created a network of partners including UNICEF, Save the Children, World Vision, and Plan International. VAPCR is also a member of the Child Rights Working Group in Vietnam, CRC Asia, ICSW and CRNET, which is a network of Vietnamese social organisations working for children. The objectives of VAPCR are to create a strong and dynamic network between organisations and individuals working for children; work as a focal point between the NGO networks and government agencies on issues related to children; communication for raising awareness on the children’s rights; policy advocacy; implement pilot models for child protection services based on family and community; monitor and prevent violations of children’s rights; capacity building for staff of social organisations; mobilise resources for the implementation of projects on issues affecting children in Vietnam. Based in Hanoi, VAPCR has seven centres and 27 branches in different provinces across Vietnam.
