About the Project

Plan International Asia Regional Office (Plan ARO) has been supporting Civil Society Actors across Asia - Child Rights Coalition Asia (CRC Asia) and National Action and Coordinating Groups against Violence against Children (NACGs) – in their strategic advocacy efforts to “Increase the Accountability of ASEAN and SAARC for the Realization of Children’s Right to Protection”.

Two regional bodies for collaboration are the key targets of these advocacy efforts: the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) and South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC). The expected outcome of the Project is to make changes in ASEAN and SAARC policies on Child Protection. More specifically, the advocacy efforts focus on Violence against Children (VAC) in South-East Asia and on Child Sexual Abuse (CSA) and Commercial Sexual Exploitation of Children (CSEC) in South Asia.  Strengthening capacities of Civil Society Actors and their advocacy are envisaged as key supporting strategies to reach the Project goal. The Project is currently funded by NORAD and SIDA, for the period 2015-2019.

It has been 2.5 years of the road so far where it is a good time to summarise what we have achieved and what the next step for the rest of the project timeframe. These one-page summary, infograpics and PowerPoint Presentation will give you an overview and updates about our works.
