The ASEAN Leaders have endorsed ASEAN RPAs (Regional Plan of Action) on Elimination of Violence against Children (EVAC) at the 27th ASEAN Summit on 21st November 2015 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

This RPA serves as a framework upheld in the Convention on the Rights of the Child (CRC) which prescribes that every child has the right to survive, grow and be protected from all forms of violence. All children have the right to be respected for their human dignity, physical and psychological integrity and to equal protection. The Convention specifies that it is the obligation of the State parties to address and eliminate the widespread prevalence and incidence of violence against children.

The attempt to eradicate violence against children through this RAP is therefore a key milestone for the Member States involved to be aware of the urgent need in dealing with violence against children and take immediate actions
